Eachtraí in Eirinn – Aibreán 2023

In the spring of 2023, the 9th-grade classes at MJS embarked on an exhilarating journey to Ireland. From April 23rd to the 29th, we explored the wonders of Dublin City and its surroundings. In addition to engaging in activities, English lessons, and gaining insights into Ireland’s history, we immersed ourselves fully in the Dublin experience.

Early on Sunday, the journey commenced at Munich Airport. During the bus ride to the meeting point with our host families in Dublin, anticipation for our time filled the air.

The following days, we explored the city center and enjoyed leisure time before English classes at the language school. Our time in Ireland even included a surprise excursion to the “Howth Cliffs,” offering a refreshing break from city life. The weather was perfect and we were able to enjoy time for ourselves at the harbour.

Overall, the trip allowed for a lot of flexibility before English classes; some of us explored the city, while others relished their free time. The pinnacle was the day trip to Glendalough on Friday, featuring visits to monastery ruins and the Powerscourt Waterfall.

After days filled with experiences, laughter and brand new English certificates for us, the journey concluded with gratitude to everyone and the accompanying teachers. The Ireland trip became unforgettable, thanks to the contributions of Mrs Wedderer, Ms Friedrich, Mr Schießl and all participating students.
